SAYes Mentoring provides structured, 1-to-1 mentoring to under-served young people navigating critical life transitions in the United Kingdom and South Africa. We equip young people with the skills, confidence and support networks they need to thrive. Through weekly e-mentoring, we expand access to consistent guidance and support. Funds raised support mentor training, safeguarding, programme delivery, and the technology and data needed to keep young people connected and supported.
In the United Kingdom, too many young people from underserved communities are growing up without the consistent support, stability, and opportunities they need to thrive. Rising living costs, housing insecurity, and widening inequality mean that young people from low-income families or leaving care are more likely to experience poor mental health, lower educational attainment, and limited access to employment pathways.
Mentorship provides young people with a consistent, trusted adult who listens, guides, and encourages them. Through goal-setting, decision-making support, and exposure to new opportunities, mentors help build confidence, resilience, and practical life skills. This relational support reduces isolation, strengthens wellbeing, and equips young people to navigate education, employment, and independent living with greater stability and hope.
Our primary objectives are improvements in independence and well-being focused on healthy decision making. By building young people's confidence, decision-making skills, and support networks, we help them transition successfully into education, employment, and stable living. We track progress using validated psychometric measures alongside community-level indicators, ensuring meaningful, measurable change for both individuals and the communities they belong to.
