The new scholarship forms are distributed among the children who are still not going to school. The schools are opened now after the summer holidays and the admissions all over are also open. With these scholarships , soon the new students will start going to the schools.
SHD is also facilitating them in transportation as well. Small kids are being brought to St. Peters school by special transport . Cost is 1000 PKR (USD 7) a month per kid to come to school plus tuition fees and books.SHD has also managed to get the donations from other sources apart from GlobalGiving.
We are waiting for the Government clearence to get foriegn exchange into SHD account. Until such time we have to wait to get the money and to restart the activities.
The Scholarship program for the intelligent but needed students has proven to be a success. Many students have found hope of continuing their education, through this project. We would like to request all our donors and supporters to keep supporting our cause .

Dear Friends. Thank you for your donations and support. So far SHD has managed to raise $18,631 to help the needy students. SHD has been Reaching out to the poor villages in Toba Tek Singh, where some families are sending their kids to school for the first time. SHD has helped these poor families to pay their admission fee, to get the books, stationary and uniform for the year.

The children are very much excited about the school. During this quarter, SHD has targeted to support 5 poor children whose parent’s works at the brick kilns. Brick kiln owners usually exploit these workers by not paying them the wages according to the government notified rate. That’s why majority of the workers live below poverty line and lack basic facilities like safe drinking water, electricity, and bathrooms and their children have no financial resources to continue their education.
The Scholarship program for the intelligent but needed students has proven to be a success. Many students have found hope of continuing their education, through this project. We would like to request all our donors and supporters to keep supporting our cause .
