Hi there
School trips are really important for the children we work with as it opens their eyes to new ideas and communities. In Nicaragua an important part of their schedule is the trips to play football!!
Both our girls and boys teams get to go and play in local leagues, (the photo below is our girls team). The students are always very excited to be picked up in the bus, maximising their time to spend singing their favourite songs and just enjoying the adventure. The teams play in Esteli and we make sure we mix the two schools together so they can meet each other and work together.
It is always great to see the interaction between the students from La Thompson and Alexis as they get to know each other better and also just having a lot of fun playing football. A 'Man (or Woman) of the Match is always called at the end before jumping on the bus and heading back to the communities.
What a great way to spend the day in Nicaragua and an experience the children will never forget!
Cheers
