Dear Patron,
Education is a powerful tool for social change and empowerment. Goa is a state that is known for its enthusiastic culture and tourism, but many families live below the poverty line and in slums, with poor access to essential services like education, healthcare, and clean water.
Education provides skills that are important for personal growth. Many girls from impoverished areas have to spend their time helping their parents to carry out odd jobs, so that they can have at least a meal each day. Attending school would offer these girls exposure to new ideas and skills, and transform their lives while opening doors to future opportunities.
Shobha (name changed) is a young girl who lives with her parents in one of the slums where our Little Acorns outreach workers visit to conduct slum school classes. She has never been to school and would often tag along with her parents, who are labourers, whenever they went to work at construction sites. Some days, her parents find no work, which leads to them going hungry or having very little to eat. When our team spoke to her parents and convinced them to send their child to our slum school, they immediately agreed. They were happy that there was someone who thought of them and their child. Now, she attends our slum school and gets to eat a delicious meal every day.
The impact of our initiative is big, offering these young girls a path out of poverty, and we could do this with the help of all our supporters, to whom we are grateful. You are very welcome to be a part of our mission. Let's educate them and change their lives!
Sincerely,
El Shaddai family.
