Shiner's Nursery School Renovations Complete

Thanks to your generous donations, the emergency renovation of Shiners nursery school in Moshi, Tanzania, has been completed.

Two months ago, the director of Shiners nursery school and one of our long-term partners, pastor Veronica, contacted the Happy Africa Foundation. After a government inspection, the school faced the risk of closure due to a deteriorated and unsafe environment for the children. She was given a 4-week deadline to resolve the problem and in order for the renovation to be completed, over $2100 funding was required to avoid closure. While it seemed fairly challenging to raise such a large amount of funds in a short time, we were confident that with the generosity of international donors, we could reach the target in time.

As the renovation is nearing completion, the school can stay open. This means that all teachers can remain in the classrooms, and most importantly all the 30 children can continue their quality education.

Shiners Nursery has been one of our oldest partners of African Impact in Moshi. The pastor Veronica has been always incredibly supportive by providing us with the space for the English community classes, which have been our core projects since we started working here. Since the establishment of the English classes, the number of students coming has been growing, and now we have more than 50 students in our classes.  Without her support, most of the students would have lost their opportunities to learn English.

For the children in the nursery school, we have been teaching the children literacy and English. A child’s early years are one of the most crucial stages of development, being able to receive quality education at this point in their lives benefits the children significantly and leads to long term growth for their future.

Thanks to your funding, the work is complete. As you can see, we have begun the final stage and are busy getting our hands dirty painting colourful art and educational murals all across the outside facing wall. We hope to be 100% complete by the end of this month.

Thank you so much to all our generous donors.
