Sewing Machine Distribution Ceremony Report

Venue: Slum areas of Sikandrabad & Karachi

Project Introduction:

The Project “Women skill development Training center” started    Dec, 2011   collaboration with (Global Giving). The objective of this project was to support the women in the creation of economical and social boost by education and learning of skills.

The main activities in women skill development training center were:
v Trainings for staff capacity building. v Cutting, sewing and sizing.
v Making decoration pieces. v Stitching clothes.
v Literacy classes for illiterate women.
v Knitting, sewing, embroidery, fruit & food preservation, health & nutrition.

Project Area introduction.

Project area Consist of sikandrabad and karachi. People of the area are deprived from basic facilities like Shelter, safe drinking water, food, and medical treatment. Similarly women face worst situation and many problems especially financial problems. Due to male dominated society, women have no power or control over resources. Due to this project women will be able to earn for themselves in a better way after getting skill trainings.

AHD arranged a ceremony to distribute sewing machines amongst the deserving women.

Proceeding of Ceremony:

The ceremony started with opening pray asked by Ms. Shazia Saleem,

Miss Sarina (Women Project Coordinator ) welcomed all honorable guests on behalf of AHD. She explained and gave detail of activities included in the project. She told that our objective was to support 120 women of this locality for economical and social boost by education and learning skills. She then invited Khurshid Bhatti, CEO AHD for sharing his views.

Mr. Khurshid BHatti appreciated the efforts of (partner/donor)for the people of Sikandrabad and karachi. He said that through AHD they are giving  an opportunity to women of this locality of learning skills. This is very beneficial for a woman as well as this is a way towards development. He also added 

Training of knitting, sewing, stitching and food Preserving to women, which is very helpful for these women themselves. At the end of his speech he thanked and appreciated (Donor name) for their valuable efforts to establish this center..

Bishop Irshad Khokher, thanked AHD for launching such types of projects for support of poor women. He requested to AHD that such types of activities should be continued and to be extended to some other backward areas of Tehsil Balakot. He said that AHD worked a lot and we should fully cooperate with AHD.
