Regardless of our finincial hicupps for the past two to three years, we are still determined and focused on changing our communities by using skilling womem through tailoring as tool. This not only focuses on sharing tangible marketable skills or creation of the best fashion personales but also focus on shaping these women mentally, pschologically and emotionally to be able to stand on their own as they get their financial independece and breaking the narrative of overdependence on men.
Over the years, it seemed very difficuilt to navigate other challenges faced by the women in the society but Thread of life has provided a safe space for these women to come and share their challenges when the going gets tough in their lives. When women are abandoned or lose their spouses, they lose focus and all their dreams are shatterd but thanks to Thread of life for offering services to ensure the women dream again and be role models for their children in the society.
Meet Shamim one of the women who took on these classes years back just to ensure she takes care of her five children. When her husband opted to leave her, her mental health was a stake but because she had the skills from thread of she believed through storytelling and going to workshop everyday to work on her client's orders she will pull through. We have walked amile with her throughout her healing and watched her over come the pain of being abondoned by her husband. She owns her workshop and believes with time and more peojects it will grow into a big fashion house where she will be able to even create more jobs for young struggling single mothers.
