Education for 1000 slum children in Goa

Thank you very much for your kind and generous support to the children with us through this project for the last 2 years.

The great journey to end poverty for good begins with a child. Education truly is the key. Basic skills and self-esteem creates better future by tackling poverty in communities. Educate to fight poverty. Education is the first step to be given to children as the power to choose the way of life they want to lead. In El Shaddai, we understand that education gives us knowledge of the world around us and changes it into something better. It develops in us a perspective of looking at life. It helps children to build opinions and have points of view on things in life.

Access to education and learning is non-existent in any slum. There are estimated to be more than 18 million street children in India. Poor parents don't have enough resources to send their children to school and they end up doing domestic chores or get into rag-picking and other anti-social activities. Children deserve the right to an education regardless of their families' financial status, which is why we have set up a project to help raise funds for indigent child education in Goa.

At least 600 children are benefiting through this project in various slum schools conducted by our three day care centers. We are continuously providing mid day meals, education material and uniforms to the children. This project is benefitting the children from remote slums where no educational facilities are available.

All our staff members including academic and vocational trainers are skillfully teaching in both academic, vocational skills and life skills.

We humbly request you to kindly support again to this project to continue to operate schools and after school learning centers. Help us keep education alive, especially for children who cannot afford to pay for it.
