Project Report | Aug 20, 2024
Breaking barriers, creating opportunities.

By Julia Matthew | Managing Director

Dear Patron,

We have a story for you of three sisters, Reema, Rinky, and Ritu (names changed), who were found wandering on the streets of Margao by our Stepping Stones outreach staff. On speaking to their parents, it was understood that the family migrated to Goa from Bihar to renew their lives, hoping to have a good future. Their father found a job as a cleaner at the railway station, while the mother still looked for a job. They have no proper facilities and could not afford to adequately provide for their children. The three young girls eagerly waited for a chance to go to school. Our team explained to them about our daycare shelter, which provides non-formal education as well as one meal each day. Their parents immediately agreed to do so. The children attended the shelter every day, happily. The eldest daughter was later enrolled in a formal school by our team. The joy that the parents felt had no limits.

Education brings a lot of joy and hope to those who are desperately waiting to be saved from poverty and neglect. Our vision is to give a childhood to children who have never had one. We have supported more than 70,000 children through our education and shelter programs. In a country that is so diversified and in the stages of development, educating children is the most essential step.

The entire team at El Shaddai tirelessly works towards bringing educational opportunities to children belonging to underprivileged families. These children are seen as beacons of hope who are willing to learn enthusiastically. Our sponsors hold a very important and special place in our hearts, and because of them, we have been able to put a smile on every child’s face. We would love to have your support to fulfill their dreams.

Sincerely,

El Shaddai Family.
