Panji studies at Umodzi primary school in Eastern Zambia. It’s a rural school, miles away from the electricity grid – in an area that has been badly hit by the severe drought. The land in the village is dry, and many families are struggling to put food on the table. When the sun sets, there is nothing left to do but go to sleep as the village, lacking electricity, becomes pitch black.
However, over the past eight months, things have started to change. Kukula Solar distributed solar lights to school-going children in the village to help them study when the sunsets.
Panji is one of the children who benefited from solar light. Panji wants to become a teacher.
like Panji a lot of school-going children need opportunities to keep dreaming. with your gift, we create opportunities for children in rural villages of Zambia.
