Nutrition Education & Assessments at RHT

By Taimoor Iqbal | Regional Manager

At Roshni Homes Trust, the health and well-being of our children remain a top priority. In our continuous efforts to improve their quality of life, we recently partnered with GIFT University’s Center for Experiential Learning, led by Ms. Maria Arshad, to conduct a comprehensive nutrition workshop and health assessment for the children at our campus.

‍ Complete Nutritional Assessment

A dedicated team from GIFT University carried out full nutritional assessments of all children. These assessments included:

  • Demographic data collection

  • Anthropometric measurements (height, weight, BMI)

  • Physical health evaluations

  • Dietary history and meal frequency records

This data provided valuable insights into the current nutritional status of each child and helped identify specific areas where improvements were needed.

Interactive Nutrition Sessions

In addition to assessments, the team organized interactive workshops to raise awareness among the children about healthy eating habits. These sessions were fun, age-appropriate, and highly engaging, helping the children understand the importance of a balanced diet in their daily lives.

A New and Improved Nutrition Plan

Using the assessment results, a personalized and improved nutrition plan was developed for the home. This revised plan ensures that all meals served to the children are more balanced, nutrient-rich, and tailored to their developmental needs. The plan also includes updated portion sizes, more diverse food groups, and scheduled meal times to encourage healthier eating habits.

Impact

This initiative marks a significant step forward in our mission to provide holistic care to the children at Roshni Homes Trust. We are deeply grateful to Ms. Maria Arshad and the entire team at GIFT University for their time, expertise, and commitment to our cause.

Most importantly, we thank you — our GlobalGiving supporters — for making this possible. Your continued generosity empowers us to provide not just shelter and education, but the lifelong gift of good health.

With gratitude,
Team Roshni Homes Trust
