Sponsor a Child's School Day - Tierra Bomba

Dear GlobalGiving Family, 

It fills our hearts with gratitude to share the latest progress of our Sponsor a Child project, which supports the school we operate on the island of Tierra Bomba, one of the most underserved communities on the Colombian Caribbean coast.

Thanks to the generosity of people like you and the campaign we launched earlier this year, we are proud to share that 15 children have sponsors who are helping transform their lives. These 15 boys and girls benefit from daily nutritious meals, school supplies, regular healthcare days, psychosocial support, and access to extracurricular activities like sports and arts which, in their environment, are rare and often out of reach.

In total, we are currently serving 200 children at our school. And while we celebrate those already sponsored, we still need to find sponsors for the remaining 185 children, each one with a unique story, a beating heart, and a deep desire to learn, grow, and dream.

For these children, sponsorship is so much more than financial support, it means protection from the dangers of the streets, where many are exposed to neglect, violence, and abuse. It means the chance to build literacy and numeracy skills in a safe and caring environment. It means feeling seen, valued, and supported sometimes for the very first time.

This year, we have also provided full school kits to all 200 students, launched literacy reinforcement sessions to strengthen learning and offered daily meals, which for many children is the only consistent source of food they receive. These actions, made possible by your donations and advocacy, have brought dignity, stability, and joy into their lives.

However, we cannot stop here, we dream of a Tierra Bomba where every child has access to quality education, healthcare, and the loving guidance they need to break the cycle of poverty. And we know that this dream is possible with your help.

Each new sponsor brings us one step closer to a future where these children are no longer defined by their limitations, but by their potential. Together, we can offer them the chance to write a different story one filled with opportunity, hope, and purpose.
