To our supporters,
Many children are without education due to poverty. Without education, a child's prospects are limited. The primary mission of The Safe House is to break the silence on abuse by empowering survivors and supporting communities. This is achieved through:
Providing Safe Shelter: Offering a secure and confidential space for women and children escaping abusive situations.
Empowerment Programs: Facilitating programs that enable survivors to regain independence and confidence.
Community Education: Raising awareness about abuse and promoting preventive measures within the community.
Some key programmes include:
Safe Accommodation: The facility accommodates up to 10 women and their children, providing essential services and support during their stay.
Counselling and Support: Professional social workers offer trauma debriefing, counseling, and the development of individualized plans to address each client’s unique needs.
Referral Process: Collaborating with recognized agencies such as the Department of Social Development, health services, and law enforcement, The Safe House ensures a structured referral pathway for clients.
Community Outreach: Engaging with local communities through awareness campaigns and educational programs to combat domestic violence and abuse.
The Safe House relies heavily on donations and sponsorships to maintain its operations. The loss of significant sponsors has posed financial challenges, prompting appeals to the public for support to continue their essential services.
Thank you!
