Project Title: Sponsorship Program for Children with Disabilities
Implementing Organization: Noor Society for People with Disabilities – Aida Refugee Camp, Bethlehem
Reporting Date: May 25, 2025
Reporting Period: April – May 2025
Project Summary:
The Sponsorship Program aims to provide children with disabilities in the Aida and Al-Azza refugee camps with critical therapeutic services, including physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, and special education. Many of these children live in impoverished conditions and lack access to even the most basic rehabilitation services, which are essential for their development and daily functioning.
Current Status:
As of this reporting period, we have not yet received sufficient funding to cover the full monthly cost of sponsorship for a single child. While we deeply appreciate the small donations made so far, the financial support remains far below the required level to sustain even one child's full therapeutic plan.
Our team continues to work voluntarily to ensure the continuity of services, but without financial support, we are at risk of being unable to continue providing the required treatments. We urge GlobalGiving donors to consider the urgency and humanitarian necessity of this project.
Child Sponsorship Needs (Sample List):
Below is a proposed list of 10 children from our program with a summary of the support they require. Each child has been assessed by a team of therapists and educators:
| Child Name | Age | Disability/Condition | Required Services | Monthly Estimated Cost (ILS) |
| -------- -- | --- | --------------------- | ---------------------------------------- | ---------------------------- |
| Nour A. | 5 | Cerebral Palsy | Physical & Occupational Therapy | 1,200 |
| Ahmad R. | 4 | Autism Spectrum | Behavioral Therapy, Special Education | 1,400 |
| Malak T. | 6 | Down Syndrome | Speech Therapy, Special Education | 1,300 |
| Rami K. | 3 | Developmental Delay | Early Intervention & Speech Therapy | 1,000 |
| Sara D. | 7 | Hearing Impairment | Hearing Therapy, Special Education | 1,200 |
| Fares B. | 8 | Neurological Disorder | Physical Therapy, Academic Support | 1,400 |
| Leen S. | 4 | Speech Delay | Speech Therapy | 900 |
| Omar Z. | 5 | Autism Spectrum | Speech & Occupational Therapy | 1,300 |
| Yasmine H.| 6 | Cognitive Impairment | Special Education, Psychological Support | 1,200 |
| Bilal M. | 3 | Hypotonia | Physical Therapy | 1,000 |
Note: The cost includes therapist fees, session materials, and child transportation in some cases.
Challenges:
Lack of regular sponsorship has placed financial pressure on the organization.
Increasing number of children on the waiting list needing urgent care.
Rising operational costs due to inflation and economic instability.
Next Steps & Call for Support:
We appeal to our partners and donors to help us secure sponsorships for at least 10 children in 2025. Each donation, no matter how small, helps ensure that a child receives critical life-changing services.
We are also open to direct sponsorship per child and are ready to provide regular updates and progress reports for each sponsored case.
