Thank you to all who have supported us so far! The Street Sports Tournament is slowly but surely becoming a reality. We are over half way to our target meaning we have one location confirmed for a seven-week long tournament and almost a second. Here is what we have managed to fund so far;
What's next? In order to host the event in all three locations (Khayelitsha, Langa and Masiphumelele) we need to reach our target of R160,000. We are getting there, but with your help we can make this event a reality. If we reach our target we will be able to provide;
Work within the communities is continuing in the build up to the Sports Tournament. Volunteers are heading our to support coaches in Physical Education classes to ensure the importance of sport is well understood and embraced. We are also taking part in the Disney "Healthy, Happy Play" workshops in partnership with Sporting Chance, to spread a message of healthy eating as well. The benefits of these workshops will come to ahead when the children are able to practice these lessons through organised sport during the Street Sports Tournament.
From where we were to where we are now, we are making incredible progress and are sure that we will be able to host the biggest and best tournament yet! Without your support we wouldn't be able to offer the tournament to any of the communities so Thank You!
