We’re excited to share some important updates from the Girls’ Village in Sri Lanka.
Thanks to a new partnership with Calzedonia, we have secured funding to support several key improvements for the girls living in the village. The funds will allow us to:
Purchase sewing machines
Renovate the housing facilities
Provide computers and launch English language courses directly at the village
Even more significantly, Calzedonia has committed to offering employment opportunities to the girls who, upon turning 18 and leaving the facility, are interested in working in the textile industry. The company will provide them with both accommodation and stable employment, creating a clear path towards independence and economic empowerment.
In recent months, we’ve also seen a growing interest in volunteering in Sri Lanka. Many individuals have expressed a desire to contribute, whether by teaching English or by offering general support to the community and our staff on the ground.
We are deeply grateful to all our partners and supporters who continue to believe in this project and in the potential of every girl in the village.
