This project empowers young leaders in Zambia's Youth Theater to promote peacebuilding, climate awareness, and youth development through community performances across the country. Your donation also helps more than 300 families in Guatemala run their own community banks, start businesses, and receive health education. By investing in youth education and family well-being, GRACE Cares builds stronger, healthier communities that can thrive.
In Zambia, youth face limited access to creative education and platforms to discuss climate change, gender-based violence, and peacebuilding. Meanwhile, in rural Guatemala, families lack access to small loans, financial literacy and health education, and entrepreneurial opportunities. Both communities are driving local solutions to build healthier, more sustainable futures.
This project amplifies two grassroots solutions: YOCUPA's youth theater in Zambia and GuateBuena's community banks and educational programing for families in Guatemala. YOCUPA trains young leaders to perform powerful plays on climate justice, gender-based violence prevention, and peacebuilding, reaching over 5,000 spectators with education and dialogue. GuateBuena supports more than 300 families through solidarity groups run by women, offering them educational and entrepreneurial opportunities.
Guided by Lao Tzu's belief in empowering communities to lead themselves, this project strengthens local capacity for lasting change. Over 1,000 families from Zambia to Guatemala will benefit from this project. YOCUPA aims to become a trusted center for youth empowerment and child protection in Zambia, while GuateBuena equips women and families in Guatemala with knowledge and skills both creating healthier, self-sufficient communities.
