Gevara, an 11-year-old boy from Nyanza born with a severe spinal condition, has overcome incredible odds through his mother Elisabeth's unwavering faith. Once unable to sit or walk, he now attends Dufatanye Organization's program, learning and growing with other children. This project seeks support for his medical therapy, safe shelter, and education to help him fully recover and achieve his dreams.
Gevara was born with a severe spinal condition that limits his movement, speech, and coordination. His mother, abandoned and homeless, struggles to provide basic needs and medical care. Without consistent therapy, safe housing, and educational support, Gevara's recovery and potential for an independent, dignified life remain at great risk.
The project will provide Gevara with regular medical and speech therapy, transport to specialized care, and essential assistive devices to improve mobility and communication. It will also secure safe housing, basic household needs, school materials, and a small livelihood grant for his mother, ensuring stability, sustained care, and long-term empowerment for the entire family.
The project will enable Gevara to gain physical strength, improved speech, and independence, allowing him to attend school and participate fully in community life. His mother will achieve stability through housing and livelihood support, reducing dependency. In the long term, the family's transformation will inspire inclusion and hope for children with disabilities across the community.
