Today technology creates connections and brings communities together in learning and sharing in exciting and unique ways every day. We're doing our part to add to this innovation with our Virtual Classroom project. This project to launch a new website with multiple interactive educational features is a major step towards improving our use of technology to support STEAM programs in communities of all sizes.
We're reviewing the first iterations of our new website and we couldn't be more excited! Our web design team has been working hard to start bringing our design concept to life and last month we were able to see our first version of the site to start to have a visual reality. A database has been built and is in its final process of set up, which will serve as the backbone of the new site and will streamline our internal operations. With this important piece in place and the site itself starting to take shape, our goal is that by December we will have the site ready for user testing, and by January we'll be able to roll out our first public version of the site with many of the new features and functions we've talked about - discussion boards, virtual learning videos, lesson plans and access to expert teaching artists all at your fingertips 24/7!
Special thanks to our Board Member Maksim Tsvetovat who has donated time, effort and expertise, as well as support staff hours, to make this Virtual Classroom dream come true for Story Tapestries and all our partners and supporters!
