Dear donors,
Don’t miss this second progress report of the project “Strengthening the health of 99 Tseltal families” that still goes on in the communities of San Miguel Canxanil, San José Patwits and San Marcos Tulijá, in the jungle of Chiapas.
During these months we have carried out domestic visits to monitor whether the 71 girls, boys and adolescents who were detected with anemia are receiving the indicated treatments. In December the last anemia detection day of 2023 will be held and we will be able to see the evolution they have had after a year of work.
On the other hand, family gardens are producing radishes, cabbage, chard, carrots, cucumber, pumpkin and lettuce. Soon the women will share recipes of how each one prepares them, so that the collective knowledge becomes more nutritious.
During this time, the women of San Marcos Tuijá gave a great example of organization by coordinating to take care of the worms in order to reproduce them and after making the population grow, a vermicompost system was delivered to each of the 29 homes in the group. They are already starting to feed them with their organic waste and soon they will have rich and free fertilizer to continue growing appetizing vegetables.
In 2024 we hope to begin installing ecological stoves and water purification systems, so that their domestic spaces are smoke-free and the water they drink is clean.
Thanks to you for making this possible / Bayel hocolawal

Queridos donantes:
In 2024 we hope to begin installing ecological stoves and water purification systems, so that their domestic spaces are smoke-free and the water they drink is clean.
Gracias por tu apoyo incondicional / Bayel hocolawal
