As we prepare for the upcoming school year in January, we reflect with both gratitude and urgency. Through your support of this programme, we have continued to provide a stable educational experience for those children whose beginnings have been defined by challenge.
Where we are now
We must be honest: the momentum of new major support has slowed, and we are entering a critical phase. With funds tightening and the new school year looming, we face a tightening budget for keeping our kids at school. We have therefore made the difficult decision to keep our oldest 5 school goers at home to continue their studies online.
We continue to stand ready to support and facilitate, but the cushion of financial support is thin. That means we are operating with leaner margins and increased risk — the kind of risk that could affect the stability we work so hard to provide.
Why this matters now
Education is not a “nice to have” — it is foundational. Through our work, we know that interruptions, instability or reduced resources can compound into future difficulties. Our children are counting on this year to be consistent. As we enter January, we need to move not just from “keeping going” to “thriving.”
Your support at this moment is therefore both urgent and strategic:
It allows us to begin January with the steady support needed to keep our young ones in school. It honours the promise we make to each child: that they will have their needs met.
It sends a clear signal that we believe in them — not just surviving the year, but growing through it.
How you can help
Monthly sponsorships: Regular, committed support gives us the sure footing to plan ahead.
One-off gifts: These help cover immediate needs — transport, stationery, backpacks, uniforms...
Sharing our story: Even if you’re not able to give right now, sharing the project with friends, networks or companies helps us expand the circle of sponsors.
In closing
We deeply believe that every child in our care is not just a number or a need—but a child with potential, a story worthy of investment, and a future that matters. The next few months will be pivotal: we want to step into the new year with confidence, not uncertainty. With your help, we can ensure that the Education programme doesn't simply continue — it flourishes.
Thank you for believing in this work, for standing with us, for leaning in when steadiness is required, and for giving hope when the need is urgent.
Together, we will ensure that this year is one of growth, of stability and of new beginnings.
With humility, courage and deep gratitude,
Pippa Jarvis
