Since April 2023, Sudan has been facing an unprecedented humanitarian crisis caused by the ongoing conflict between the Sudanese Armed Forces and the Rapid Support Forces. Thousands of people have lost their lives, and millions have been displaced, forced to flee their homes without access to basic necessities such as clean water, food, shelter, and hygiene facilities. As winter approaches, displaced families will face additional hardship, worsening their already fragile living situation.
This project will provide displaced Sudanese families with life-saving assistance, including food, clean water, and hygiene kits, in Sudan and Chad, addressing their most urgent needs and preventing risks of malnutrition and disease. As temperatures drop at night, the distribution of plastic sheeting, sleeping mats, and blankets will offer protection and warmth. By meeting these essential needs, the project aims to bring immediate relief and restore dignity of conflict-affected people.
By restoring access to food, clean water, basic hygiene, and distribution of winter supplies, long-term health risks such as malnutrition, waterborne diseases and epidemic outbreaks will be prevented.
