The Rural Women Development Trust (RWDT) is dedicated to empowering rural women, rescued bonded labourers, and vulnerable young women by creating sustainable livelihood opportunities. This initiative helps women break free from poverty, avoid re-entry into bonded labour, and build secure futures.
In partnership with the Entrepreneurship Development Institute of India (EDII), RWDT has launched a one-month Entrepreneurship Skill Development Program at K.R. Thoppur, Tharamangalam block, Salem district. The training runs from 12th August to 12th September 2025.
Skill Development for Sustainable Livelihoods
This program focuses on training women in making high-demand, eco-friendly jute products such as:
By promoting jute-based production, the program encourages environmentally friendly business practices while opening doors to self-employment and income generation.

RWDT believes economic self-reliance is the key to women’s empowerment. Through livelihood training, entrepreneurship development, and skill-building, RWDT enables women to achieve financial independence, dignity, and social inclusion.
