Fair progress for our beneficiaries
By Faridah Nabbanja | Executive Director
Our dear readers, we are greaful that the deaf girls we supported with hair dressing are progressing well. Their customers are used the them despite some challenges in communication.
MPWDA still beleives that deaf girls can be very good hairdressers. We hope for more support so that we acheive our intended objective. We intend to start a very vibrant and unique saloon in our town council for deaf girls. Where deaf girls have started such an initiative, it has worked well. We want to emurate the same. We believe they will get customers. We wish to see persons with disabilities who lead independent lives.
Thank you so much.

By Faridah Nabbanja | Executive Director

Dear our readers and friends. Warm greetings from MPWDA. With your support we have been able to enroll Rose a deaf girl for hair dressing. Rose had been yeanring for this opportunity and we managed to pay the course fees and all the requirements such as shampoo, combs, doll and others that were needed for her to study well. She is progressing well. We supported another deaf girl who had studied hairdressing and started a saloon but was in need of support to boost her business. Eseza was able to buy some saloon materials such as vaselines and shampoo. She is also very happy and progressing well.
We are calling for more support our so that we enroll more deaf girls and start a saloon for them. We have discovered that many of these girls have children and they are single parents who are taking care of thier children. So giving them a skill and starting for them an income generating project shall economically empower them to also be able to take care of thier children.
Thank you once again our friends. We appreciate all your support..

DEAF GIRL PROGRESSING WELL FOR TRAINING
By Faridah Nabbanja | Projects Coordinator
MPWDA managed to enroll one deaf girl for hair dressing and she is progressing well. She has learnt how to use the hair dryer, washing customer hair, customer care and some plaiting. She attends every day and the care taker is also very supportive. She had only one challenge at the beggining and that was communication with the trainer and the customers. But she has picked and they can now communicate and understand each other.
MPWDA would like to enroll 3 more deaf girls so that the saloon starts with four deaf girls.
We are requesting for more support to this cause. We belielve that if given skills and capital to start the saloon business, the deaf girls can be able to get income, lead independent and dignified lives.
Thank you so much our friends. We are very humbled by your support.
