Project Report | Dec 3, 2025
Supporting survivors within their communities

By Miriam M | Program quality control lead

Dear Friends and Supporters,

We are grateful to share the latest progress from our project, Support a Survivor’s Journey to Reintegration. Your continued generosity has enabled us to provide lifesaving assistance, skills development, and long-term reintegration support to trafficking survivors across Kenya and beyond.

1. Empowering Survivors Through Entrepreneurship Training

This quarter, we successfully conducted a 3-day comprehensive entrepreneurship training, equipping survivors with practical skills to start and manage small businesses.
A total of 54 survivors completed all training modules, which covered:

Introduction to Entrepreneurship, Identifying Viable Business Opportunities,Developing a Business Model,Business Start-up Processes,Managing Business and Personal Finances,Keeping Essential Business Records & Understanding Financial Statements,Costing and Pricing,Market Research, Product Development & Marketing,Business Plan Development

The participants expressed increased confidence in turning their ideas into sustainable income-generating activitiesan important step toward economic independence and long-term recovery.

2. Meeting Immediate Needs: Food and Basic Support

To help survivors facing acute hardship, we provided food support to 20 survivors. This assistance continues to play a crucial role in stabilizing their households, ensuring they can focus on healing, training, and rebuilding their lives.

3. Critical Rescue and Medical Intervention

Thanks to your support, we successfully repatriated a critically injured survivor from Saudi Arabia. She suffered a traumatic brain injury from a fall while working. Our team coordinated her safe return to Kenya and facilitated her emergency transfer to Nanyuki Level 4 Hospital, where she is now receiving medical care and psychosocial support.

This intervention was lifesaving and reaffirmed our commitment to ensuring survivors are never alone, even in the most difficult circumstances.

Update Progress
1. Continued Food Assistance

We continued providing food support to 20 survivors, ensuring stability for individuals and families still recovering from exploitation.

2. Home Visits Across Regions

Our caseworkers conducted home visits in Western Kenya, Nairobi, and Central region, offering counseling, reintegration follow-up, and support plans tailored to each survivor’s needs.

3. Medical Support: Optical Surgery

We facilitated an optical surgery for a survivor injured in Myanmar during his exploitation in cyber scamming compounds. The surgery has significantly improved his vision and quality of life.

4. Education & Skills Training (TVET Enrollment)

We enrolled three survivors into technical and vocational education programs (TVET):

1 survivor – Barista and Mixology

2 survivors – Certificate in Beauty Therapy

These skills will open pathways for dignified employment and sustainable livelihoods.

Thank You

Every step of progress from medical rescue to entrepreneurship training is made possible by your donations. You are helping survivors reclaim their dignity, rebuild their confidence, and take meaningful steps toward independence.

We look forward to sharing more updates as their journeys continue.
Thank you for standing with survivors.

With gratitude,
The HAART Kenya Team
