We are proud to share that 138 girls across the country were celebrated at the end of this school year with a Career Girls Club Certificate of Completion, recognizing their dedication and growth through our 20-week empowerment program.
This year’s curriculum, designed for girls ages 9–15, covered essential life and career-readiness topics from Friendship, Smart Choices, and Teamwork to Civility and Resilience. Through Career Girls Role Model videos, engaging activities, and thoughtful discussions, girls explored a wide range of career possibilities while developing the confidence and skills they need to succeed in school and in life.
For some girls, the certificate marked the first time they had ever been recognized for an accomplishment. For others, it symbolized the resilience and strength they developed as they navigated personal challenges, academic pressure, and self-doubt. For all 138 girls, it represented meaningful growth in confidence, voice, and vision for their future.
What Girls Are Saying:
When asked how many careers they believed were available to them, many girls began the program with answers in the single digits. By the end, their views had transformed. Post-program responses included phrases like:
“Hundreds.”
“A lot!”
“A million!”
“Too many to count.”
These changes reflect a powerful shift in perspective, one where girls begin to see the world as full of possibilities and themselves as capable of achieving great things.
What Educators Are Saying:
School Counselor Melissa shared the story of a student who struggled early in the school year after receiving an Individualized Education Program (IEP) and being placed in a new classroom environment:
“She didn’t give up. She came to school every day, completed her work, and by the end of the year, she had earned A’s and B’s. Her journey especially reflected how overcoming obstacles can lead to success. She saw the end result of her hard work.”
Melissa continued:
“We saw academic improvement in other girls too. One girl who had been very shy began to open up by the fourth lesson. The group supported her — calling on her to speak, encouraging her participation. They built community and confidence together.”
These stories speak to the power of building soft skills, an important foundation of our curriculum. Soft skills help students navigate their emotions, build positive relationships, and overcome adversity.
Thanks to your generous support, we’re launching an expansion of the Career Girls Club curriculum with Empowerment Kits for girls to take home over the summer. These kits are designed to help prevent summer learning loss and extend the benefits of the program to girls’ families and home environments.
Your belief in our mission makes this work possible. Thank you for helping girls across the country build confidence, imagine their futures, and take the first bold steps toward achieving their dreams.
