Dear Donors,
As we mentioned in our last report, our focus for the last few months has been on planning and preparing for the construction of new toilet facilities at the Landegama rural school. We’ve selected a contractor to do the construction, and we’ve received approval from the relevant government authorities to proceed.
This has taken significant coordination and effort from our team members, and especially our project manager who is working with all parties on the ground. At last, we’re very pleased to report that we’ve begun construction on the sanitary facilities, starting with a groundbreaking ceremony that occurred on July 31st! We expect the construction to be completed within the next two months and if all goes to plan, one of our team members will be visiting the school to see the completion and to hand over school supplies that we’ve organized for the students.
Please enjoy the pictures of the groundbreaking ceremony, and thank you again for your continued support!
