Dear Donors,
Here’s an update on Landegama’s Sanitation Project. In our last update we broke ground on the project with a ceremony. Since then, the construction team began work and have made significant progress on the building. One adjustment to the plan required the building of a retaining wall, since we discovered that the ground on the site was not sturdy enough for the foundation. Of course, we chose to do the necessary additions to ensure the facilities will stand safely for years to come. While progress continues, our project lead made a trip to Landegama from the US to see the work for himself. Please see the attached photos of the construction.
In the meantime, we also arranged a workshop for the teachers and students at Landegama regarding the use of remote learning and digital tools. We were fortunate to have Dr. Athula Samarasinghe, from Sri Jayawardenapura University, visit Landegama for this insightful lecture.
We hope our next update will be about the completion of this important project. We appreciate all your support. Your continued donations will ensure that it will be a success!
