No one chooses to struggle. No one wants to worry about where their next meal will come from. No one wants to have to choose between helping their child reach every dream in their heart and mind and their own well-being.
The truth is, for many people, this is their reality — living with constant worry and a survival mentality. Most single parents just want to get by; they weren't given the opportunity to want more for themselves and their children. Simply put, it’s not always a choice offered to them.
Imagine this: you’re recently divorced with two kids and have just moved closer to your sister. Once you've gotten settled, you find a job you love and start working there. Eventually, your son gets accepted into a performing arts school. But because you’re also enrolled in school and juggling a busy schedule, it begins to interfere with your studies. Now, you’ve run out of financial aid, and it’s already hard enough to keep food on the table, let alone pay the bills and essentials.
You shouldn't have to put you or your child's dreams on hold and neither should you. But after reaching out to countless resources and facing rejection, it feels like there’s no way forward. Sometimes, it’s a battle just to keep going, and that’s a reality many face every day.
That's what happened to one of our single parents who felt like she couldn't catch a break. She was seeking a better life, but instead fell on tough times. She never thought she'd have to move, get a divorce, or hit rock bottom - it just happened over time.
YOU'RE THAT BEACON OF HOPE, giving her the chance to finally pull her head above water. You helped her secure $250 in groceries for her family and $100 in gas every quarter. And it didn't stop there - you also helped cover her mortgage, allowing her to work towards finishing her nursing degree.
She's now happily chasing her dreams while encouraging her son and daughter to do the same, or even more. We want to see her graduate and exceed her expectations of what life could be.
NOW SHE CAN, That's all because of YOU!
