Progress Report March-June 2023
HIGHLIGHTS The "Enable 360 Children with Disabilities in Armenia" project, implemented by Bridge of Hope NGO, aims to provide essential support and rehabilitation services to 360 children with disabilities in the Tavush Marz region of Armenia. By addressing the challenges of social exclusion and limited access to education, our project empowers these children to develop their abilities, overcome barriers, and enjoy a more inclusive community life. We are deeply grateful for the support and donations received through the GlobalGiving platform.
The project has made significant progress during the period of March 2023 to June 2023. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to all the donors and supporters who have helped us in this journey. SUMMARY OF PROGRESS During the reporting period 360 children with disabilities have demonstrated improved outcomes in their learning and development due to support of our child-friendly and child-centered project in Dilijan, Ijevan and Berd and Noyemberyan cities of Tavush Marz. Rehabilitation Services: During the period of March 2023 to June 2023, we have successfully set up community-based rehabilitation services in the cities of Dilijan, Berd, Noyemberyan, Ijevan, and 24 nearby villages in the Tavush Marz region. These services provide a comprehensive range of physical and psychological therapy, art therapy, life skills training, sports, and leisure activities tailored to the needs of children with disabilities.
Inclusive Environment and Social Inclusion: We have created inclusive environments where children with disabilities can thrive and interact with their peers. Through our rehabilitation services, we have fostered a sense of belonging and reduced social isolation for the 360 children involved in the project. The positive impact of these inclusive environments extends beyond therapy sessions, enabling the children to participate in community life and build lasting friendships.
Comprehensive Development and Education: Our project has focused on the holistic development of children with disabilities, including their physical, emotional, and intellectual growth. Through a combination of therapy, life skills training, and educational support, we are helping these children overcome barriers to education. As a result, a significant number of children are now attending schools alongside their peers and achieving improved learning outcomes. Empowerment and Self-Esteem: By providing children with disabilities equal opportunities for growth and education, we are fostering a sense of empowerment and boosting their self-esteem. This newfound confidence enables them to envision a brighter future, plan for their aspirations, and break free from the cycle of disparity and isolation. The long-term impact of this project extends beyond the individual children, positively shaping the future of the entire community.
Collaboration and Sustainability: We continue to collaborate with local stakeholders, including schools, community leaders, and healthcare providers, to ensure the sustainability of the project. By building local capacity and fostering partnerships, we are creating a supportive ecosystem that will continue to benefit children with disabilities even after the project's completion.
