Meet Lindy - a sweet 3-year-old girl living with her grandparents in a rural village near Acornhoek, South Africa. After losing her mother young, Lindy faced an isolated, unstimulating childhood as her grandparents struggled to provide. Thanks to our RISE program, Lindy now attends creche, receiving two healthy meals a day, learning through play, and thriving in a safe, nurturing space. In rural Acornhoek, the reality for most young children is grim. Poverty, hunger, and unsafe environments are the norm. Access to clean water, nutritious meals, trained caregivers, safe toilets, and stimulating play spaces is limited or non-existent. Many creches are overcrowded and under-resourced, led by untrained women doing their best without support. Children fall behind before they've even begun.
We support 6 local creches and run our own RISE Educare Creche, turning them into hubs of hope. Training: Caregivers receive regular ECD workshops. Nutrition: Veggie gardens & feeding programs provide daily meals. Water & Sanitation: Clean water, toilets, and handwashing stations are installed. Play & Learning: Playgrounds, recycled learning tools, and hygiene education through play. Together, we're creating safe, nurturing spaces where children can thrive in their most critical early years
With your support, we will uplift 7 creches and positively impact the lives of 629+ children annually. These children will gain the foundational skills - cognitive, emotional, and physical - to succeed in school and life. Trained teachers and sustainable gardens will continue to serve communities for years to come, breaking cycles of poverty and giving young children a true chance to rise.
