Dear friends of The Solidarity Project,
When the world feels heavy, where do we see hope taking root?
At The Solidarity Project, we see it in rural Honduras - in women gathering to learn new skills, in community leaders dreaming boldly about their future, and in neighbors choosing to build solutions together.
Since the new year, Melisa, our Honduran Program Director, has been meeting with leaders in all 10 of our partner communities to reflect on the past year, name their most pressing challenges, and dream about what comes next.
What I love about this practice is when communities pause to reflect and plan together, something powerful happens. Problems are not just discussed — they are owned. Solutions are not imposed — they are created locally. And dreams begin to feel possible.
Because of your support, those dreams turn into real opportunities.
We are especially proud of our leadership interns. Julia, with the support of fellow intern Keysy, recently held two workshops with a women’s group, teaching them how to make cupcakes, pizza dough, and traditional Honduran breads to support their entrepreneurial goals.
Melisa shares that the impact goes far beyond baking.
“These workshops help women overcome fears, develop new skills, and build confidence in their own potential.”
As one participant shared: “Today I feel empowered. Before, I looked at breads and thought that was too hard for me. Now I know I can not only make this — I can sell it.”
That is what community-led change looks like: practical skills paired with renewed belief.
And you are part of that story.
Your support is multiplied many times over in Honduras — fueling leadership, strengthening local solutions, and helping communities create lasting change on their own terms.
If you would like to continue being part of this work in 2026, we invite you to make a gift today. Every contribution — of any size — helps sustain this steady momentum.
In a world where change can feel uncertain, you are helping build something grounded, hopeful, and real.
With deep gratitude,
Jean, Carolyn, Marcela, David, Rosi, & Melisa
P.S. Monthly gifts make an especially powerful difference. Even $25 a month helps ensure workshops like these — and the community planning behind them — continue all year long. If you’ve been considering becoming a recurring donor, this is a beautiful time to start.
