Support our newborn care training team

In August we ran our first ever Cranial Ultrasound Training Course in Mbale, eastern Uganda — and wow, what a wonderful time it was. A huge thank you to Prof. Cornelia Hagmann and Prof. Anita Truttmann for so generously giving their time, knowledge, and skills. This was the first training course of its kind in Uganda and we were delighted to welcome participants from all over the country. The skills gained during the week were just the beginning of a learning journey. Each participant left inspired to keep developing and refining their expertise, with one shared goal in mind: better care for Uganda’s newborns. 

Our newborn care training team is critical to improvements in care for the smallest and sickest newborns. Did you know 400 newborns die every week in Uganda? That is over 20,000 deaths a year. We must empower every healthcare worker with the knowledge and skills to care for these babies so this number reduces. But this is only possible with your help.  

Our cranial ultrasound course was one more important step forward in improving neonatal care in Uganda, but we are worried it may end here without more support from you, and your friends and family who support our work.
