Last week the children from Standard 7 went to visit Braeburn School. A previous GVI volunteer, Madam Nicky, now works at the International school in Mombasa and arranged a trip for the children to go and watch the class 6’s dress rehearsal of their summer play, The Lion King.
The Braeburn school bus came and collected them from Precious Vision Care Centre, which was very excited for everyone involved (especially the volunteers as it had air-conditioning!) Once we had arrived the children got to chat with some of the students at Braeburn. We then went into the school hall and sat down to watch the production.
The children thoroughly enjoyed it, particularly ‘Hakuna Matata’ and ‘Asante sana, squashed banana…’ and we had many renditions on the way home!
The next thing on the agenda is a Precious production of The Lion King! Watch this space…
