After more than three years of war, millions of older Ukrainians continue to face fear, loss, and uncertainty every single day. For many, home means isolation, damage, and a daily struggle to access food and medicine.
A new HelpAge report reveals the stark reality:
Yet thanks to you, older people in Ukraine are not forgotten.
How You’re Making a Difference
Your support is helping older Ukrainians find safety, care, and dignity amid the ongoing crisis. Through four Community Safe Spaces, over 8,000 older people have found connection, classes, mental health support, and access to health services. Many have also come together to advocate with local governments for small changes, like free local bus passes, that improve their lives. This is all because of donors like you.
As 66-year-old Olha told us:
“When we gather at our space—whether it’s painting, or simply having tea and chatting with other displaced persons—it feels like an escape from the harsh reality. We forget about the war, about all the hardships. It gives me immense emotional and mental support.”
What’s Next
Older people are showing incredible resilience—volunteering, singing in choirs, and starting small businesses—but they need ongoing support. Your donations help us:
Together, we can ensure that older Ukrainians are not invisible in this crisis.
Your support means safety, care, and hope for people who have already given so much to their communities and country. Thank you for standing with them when it matters most.
