We are pleased to share an update on the progress of our After-School Programme, which has now been running successfully for nine months since the launch of the pilot phase. The programme continues to provide a safe and nurturing environment where children can learn, grow, and realize their full potential.
Our After-School Programme strengthens community engagement by creating opportunities for collaboration and partnership among schools, parents, and local organizations.
Empowerment Through Support and Counselling
The programme remains committed to empowering at-risk children, caregivers, and families. Through enhanced access to quality support resources and structured counselling sessions, we continue to promote resilience and equip participants with essential life skills.
Tuition Updates
Our tuition sessions have significantly improved academic achievement, skill development, and created a more motivating and engaging learning environment. In addition to academic progress, students have shown growth in social skills, teamwork, and cooperation skills essential for future success.
Tuition classes focus on preparing students for advanced topics in current and future grades, particularly in core subjects such as Mathematics, English, Kiswahili, Agriculture, and Science. The programme also offers additional time and resources for personalized learning, content review, and one-on-one guidance from dedicated tutors.
Extracurricular Activities
Football:
Football continues to be a vibrant platform for Grade five learners to showcase their talents, develop teamwork, and strengthen social interactions. Children have gained foundational skills in ball control, passing, dribbling, shooting, and defending. These technical abilities are essential for growth in the sport and build discipline, leadership, and cooperation.
Art and Music:
Art classes have allowed students to explore various artistic styles and mediums. They have developed technical skills in drawing and painting, incorporating concepts such as shading, value, and perspective. Music sessions have introduced children to diverse musical styles and cultures, basic music theory (including rhythm and dynamics), and active listening. These experiences have helped foster creativity, cultural appreciation, and critical thinking.
New ActivitiesWe are excited to introduce three new activities to our programme: Baking, Life Skills, and Modelling.
Life Skills Class:
Students are learning essential life competencies—knowledge, values, and abilities that prepare them to handle challenges, form healthy relationships, and grow into responsible, productive members of the community.
Baking Class:
Children are enjoying hands-on experiences that teach basic baking techniques, creativity, and the importance of following instructions and working collaboratively.
Modelling Class:
This class is building confidence and self-expression through posture, presentation, and performance activities.
Additional Services Provided
Beyond academic and extracurricular activities, we also provide:
Counselling Services:
Tailored counselling sessions are available to both children and parents. These sessions address emotional and mental health needs, recognizing the external challenges many children face.
Community Support Services (E-Citizen):
We extended support to community members by facilitating access to online government services such as birth certificate registration, medical insurance enrolment, and driving license applications.
Success Stories and Inspiring Visits
Agriculture Class Harvest:
Our children celebrated a key achievement by harvesting kales and spinach they planted during Agriculture class. They proudly shared the produce with their families, reinforcing the value of hard work and responsibility.
A Visit from Mr. World Kenya
We were honored to host Mr. World Kenya during a special session with our After School children. His visit was both inspiring and empowering, as he encouraged the children to discover and develop their unique talents.
He spoke passionately about the importance of recognizing individual strengths and nurturing them with dedication and confidence. The visit featured an engaging Q&A session where the children asked thoughtful questions and received insightful responses.
A highlight of the day was a modeling presentation, complete with catwalks and energetic dance routines, which brought excitement and joy to everyone present.
Mr. World Kenya’s presence left a lasting impression, motivating the children to dream big, overcome obstacles, and pursue their ambitions with resilience and self-belief.
Meals
We continue to provide our children with nutritious, balanced meals that support their overall health and development. Proper nutrition remains a key pillar in our commitment to their well-being.
Thank You
We deeply appreciate your generous contribution and continued support. Because of you, our children are thriving, smiling, learning, and growing through their engagement in academics, arts, and sports. Your support makes this all possible.
