We help displaced families returning to Sake, North Kivu rebuild their livelihoods by providing small livestock, training, and starter kits for income-generating agriculture. Through community-led support, vulnerable households gain food security and a pathway toward stable income after years of conflict.
Families returning to Sake after conflict find their homes destroyed, fields devastated, and livestock gone. With USAID support recently cut, the community faces extreme poverty, food insecurity, and limited ways to earn income. Without tools or animals to restart agricultural activity, households especially women and children struggle daily to survive
We provide vulnerable families with small livestock rabbits, goats, and poultry along with hands-on training in breeding, feeding, shelter building, and small-business skills. These fast-growing animals create reliable income and food supplies, allowing households in Sake to rebuild stability and regain independence after displacement.
By restoring sustainable income to families in Sake, this project strengthens food security, improves children's nutrition, and rebuilds local markets. As livestock multiply, families can generate ongoing income, invest in schooling, and stabilize their futures creating long-term resilience across the entire community.
