Thank you for your continued support, which enables social worker Fatma to support the residents of Susya and Umm al-Khair.

Over the past three months, Fatma has focused on providing psychological support and specialized workshops for residents facing extremely stressful situations. In Susya, Umm al-Khair, and surrounding villages, her work has addressed trauma caused by settler attacks and the looming threat of home demolitions.

  • Fatma conducted workshops on stress relief, teaching relaxation techniques and gentle parenting methods. Notable sessions in Umm al-Khair focused on helping women manage the accumulated tension from daily threats, while others addressed the challenges of raising adolescents.
  • She also conducted emergency field visits to families who had received demolition notices or were victims of physical assaults. Individual sessions were offered to those in deep mourning and to children who had witnessed violence.
  • Recreational and drawing activities were organized to help children cope with fear. Fatma provided psychological support to help youth recover from traumatic experiences, such as witnessing the arrest or injury of family members.
  • Training sessions on self-care and overcoming personal or academic challenges were also held, with a strong emphasis on helping shy or anxious teenagers integrate into the community.

One of the success stories is that of a teenage girl, identified as S.S., who once struggled deeply with shyness and anxiety. At first, social interaction—such as speaking to others or simply being around them—felt overwhelming for her. Through regular participation in workshops and one-on-one sessions, she made significant progress. She grew confident and overcame her fear. By the end of the reporting period, S.S. was able to interact with people with ease. She voluntarily asked to join the emergency team and now takes part in field activities, becoming an active and valued member of her community.

In recent months, residents have faced a pervasive atmosphere of anxiety and insecurity. Military operations created major hurdles, including road closures that restricted access to villages. Despite these challenges, the program reached approximately 83 women, 78 children, and 20 youth through regular visits.

Thank you for making this possible.
