Project Report | Aug 30, 2025
Thank you and an update

By Suranjani Wickremeratne | President - Tarana Foundation

Dear Donors,

Since our previous report we have been supporting individuals with their medical treatment or made a donation towards their life-saving operations.

The following persons have been supported during the last few months.

1) Thamindu Mihiranga Subasinghe, an Advanced Level student who achieved outstanding results at the GCE Ordinary Level Examination, has been granted a donation of Rs. 50,000/- to support his urgent medical treatment. Diagnosed with leukemia, Thamindu requires a bone marrow transplant to be carried out in India—a procedure that offers him a vital chance at recovery.

2) Megala, a resident of Mathugama and a low-income earner, was supported with a donation of Rs. 50,000/- to assist with her ongoing cancer treatment. Facing a life-threatening illness with limited financial means, Megala’s situation reflects the harsh realities many individuals endure when access to healthcare is constrained by economic hardship.

3) A young male from Bandarawela, facing serious kidney complications and in urgent need of a transplant, was supported with a donation of Rs. 50,000/- to assist with the cost of his life-saving procedure. Living in a rural area with limited financial resources, his condition posed a significant challenge to both his health and his future.

This contribution was made to help ease the financial burden associated with the transplant and to offer hope to him and his family during a critical time. It reflects our commitment to standing by individuals in need—not only in their pursuit of education or livelihood, but also in their fight for survival.

We extend our deepest gratitude to all the generous donors who supported this project. Your contributions have made a meaningful impact on the lives of individuals facing serious medical challenges. Thanks to your kindness, we were able to assist deserving recipients with critical support—from funding life-saving treatments, such as bone marrow and kidney transplants, to helping low-income patients access cancer care.

Each donation has brought hope to those in need and relief to families struggling under the weight of medical expenses. Your support has not only helped meet urgent health needs but has also reminded these individuals that they are not alone in their journey.

Looking ahead, we remain committed to continuing this mission. In the coming months, we hope to respond to many more requests for medicine and medical assistance from individuals and hospitals across the country. With your continued support, we can expand our reach and ensure that more lives are touched, more burdens are eased, and more futures are protected.

Together, we are building a compassionate community where help is given freely, and hope is never out of reach.

May you and your family be blessed abundantly!
