Imagine Not Having Access to A Doctor or Hospital
By Diana | Project Coordinator Dear Friends of Peru,It seems
Dear Friends of Peru,
It seems that every country around the world struggles when it comes to healthcare. So I guess it is important to ask why Peru needs the support over others?
Well did you know....
- It is estimated upto 20% of the population have zero access to healthcare in Peru
- Peru has a shortage of medical professionals as once trained they go overseas for high salaries
- The government allocation of $332 per capita annually for those community members living in extreme poverty and cannot afford healthcare.
These are huge challenges we face in Peru and while there are a few projects across Peru working hard tackling this issue in different ways we see many rural smaller communities being left behind and this has been our focus to help bring medical teams into these communities to run outreach projects to help people stay healthy while other projects tackle the issue to increase the medical support across Peru.
Running family planning, Hygiene workshops in communities really helps people take ownership of their own health and as this project grows we hope to start offering mobile doctor surgeries to these communities.
Thanks,

Introduction
Statistics show that rural and remote communities have a lower life expectancy due to lack of resources. Access to healthcare can be expensive and is simply not an option for millions of people living in poverty today.
Report
Funding permitted we will be bringing in local health professionals to provide resources, outreach awareness and emergency services to the local community to ensure everyone has access to support for a healthier and safe future. This project will be 100% funded by our donors. Currently, we are creating a series of workshops on preventative health but also training community members on first aid and emergency response and alongside this funding the medical supplies and equipment for the trained professionals to be able to help the local community.
Thank you for your support

Currently, we are creating a series of workshops on preventative health but also training community members on first aid and emergency response and alongside this funding the medical supplies and equipment for the trained professionals to be able to help the local community. Offering this initial awareness and response service we aim to build awareness to empower local community members to keep themselves safe and healthy and improve their quality of life. A donation of $40 will fund a workshop on health and hygiene to 40 local community members.
