In early August, heavy rains swept through Santa Marta, Colombia, triggering severe flooding that disrupted the lives of more than 13,000 people across 60 neighborhoods. Many families saw their homes inundated and their belongings destroyed, creating an immediate need for emergency relief and stability.
Joining forces with local partners, IsraAID Colombia's team was on the ground to deliver urgent aid to those hit hardest by the disaster. Together, we distributed essential relief supplies to more than 100 of the most affected families. This included:
Leveraging our local expertise and trust, we are able to reach vulnerable communities efficiently and respectfully. By combining immediate relief with efforts to strengthen long-term resilience, we are helping these communities not just recover, but build back stronger.
