Last week we finished the surgical campaign in the city of Cusco, where we treated 30 patients, who were selected from more than 100 people including children, adolescents and adults. These patients from the southern part of Peru and of scarce economic resources had access to reconstructive surgeries performed by specialists with more than 10 years of experience. It was an intense week of operations on behalf of patients with severe burns on their bodies. They have a long road ahead of them, as after discharge they will have to undergo intensive rehabilitation treatment in Cusco or in Lima.
The Cusco office was created 10 years ago to attend to the integral treatment of patients from the macrosur region, facilitating their transfer and recovery. We are very grateful to all those who in one way or another have contributed to this long process of improving scars.
