Hey there friends!
Wanted to check in and give you the updates of our sustainability goals for 2026 with our Water Houses in Haiti. First, we were able to fix a water pump at the cyvadier Water House. This allowed us to travel to the Jacmel area and also follow up on all our filters there. This pump was just in need of some cleaning after the extensive flooding that happened in the winter. The well had filled with mud from the slides and the pump and well needed looked at.
We also were able to dig the well a little deeper and restore water access at Nangwayve school after the mud slides caused the well to fill with mud recently. These projects did not require a lot of materials, but just time and funding to dig the wells and clean out the pump.
Our newest goal is to re-install the Water House system at Torbeck clinic. This system has needed a new pump after one was misplaced in change of ownership and the clinic had been closed for a bit. We will be re-installing the filtration equipment and replacing the pump over the next few weeks in March.
These projects are largely supported by donors who see the importance of our work and give to not just new projects, but also to sustain the projects we already have in Haiti. Thank you so much for giving to this meaningful and important work of clean water!
