July 2011 marks the one year anniversary of our project in the community of Chiriza, one of the poorest in Nicaragua.
Donations to the GVI Charitable Trust have helped us achieve so much including construction of the school, two latrines, three indoor classrooms, outdoor covered classrooms, concrete floors and a kitchen complete with an energy efficient stove.
None of this would have been possible without support for the project from our wonderful donors, fundraisers, volunteers, staff and community members.
To boost funds a team of dedicated volunteers and staff took part in the inaugural Nicaragua Volcano challenge in May. This grueling challenge pushed participants to their limit but funds raised are helping to make a huge difference. The second challenge will take place in November this year.
