School restarted for the new year in February with plenty of new faces eager to learn how to hold a pencil and color in "between" the lines! Before term started thanks to donations we managed to restock the toy box, buy essential education supplies including glue, papers, books etc. We have also replaced the ageing latrines and built new shelves for storage. We are hoping to employ two ex-students to help out in the school aswell to give our current teachers more support.
During the holidays, we invested in our sustainable Plan Ciber; purchasing five computers and installing internet so the older children can do their homework and printing, rather than having to travel miles to the nearest town to do this. We can also start computer classes for the school and also help members of the community; it is a great addition to The Phoenix Projects.
Thank you to all our donors who continually help to make this happen and who will make this happen in the future. Remember that on 6th June we are undertaking The Phoenix Seven Continent Charity Challenge, where you can undertake any fundraising event at home, knowing that fundraisers are being held on the same day around the world. Please do get involved and use this page as your fundraising page - every cent counts!. For more information click here.
Thank you and have a great March!
