Plans for 2020 and Giving Tuesday on 3rd December

By Dom Williams | Founder and Director

Plan Moo
Plan Moo

2020 will be a very important year for our projects as we embark on a massive plan ti implement sustainable plans across the projects in Guatemala, Honduras, Ecuador and Perú. With climate change affecting the areas where we work water is a major problem and we will be implementing irrigation systems and looking into pipíng from natural springs and water storage as a priority. Without water there are no agricultural plans, including livestock, so this is a massive potential problem.

Over the years we have seen success in Plan Moo (cows), Plan Huerto (vegetable gardens) and Plan Tilapia (fish) so we will be using this experience to exand these areas. Cheap imports oif chicken has affected Plan Pollo in Guatemala making it uneconomic though we are looking into gardens and small business, especially with teenage single mothers.

On 3rd December Global Giving will be adding bonuses to all donations whilst funds last as part of their #GivingTuesday campaign so if you can donate, please donate early and thank you very much in advance! All donations made will go towards our Christmas Appeal which aims to raise $15,000 towards our local teachers’ salaries and University scholarships, sustainable income plans for local families, fruit and food, school materials and celebrations during 2020.

We will also be planting one tree for every $15 donated in our effort to help offset the problems of deforestation and the effects of climate change as trees help reduce carbon dioxide from the atmosphere.

Thank you so much for any donation you can make to the Appeal and 2020 and all the best for the upcoming festive season!
