This year has seen the devaluation of the British Pound and also political turmoil whch directly and indirectly affects the projects on the ground. Drops in donations, uncertainty and unclear futures harm the projects. Having sustainable income plans in place on the ground not only guarantees income streams for the schools though also give additional income to the local families in these uncertain times. Our plans over the next two years are to increase the Plan Moo herd by 75 cows. Our Plan Pollo scheme currently covers 20% of all project costs and we would like to raise this to 30% during 2017. In Honduras we plan to bring in Plan 10, which umbrellas various sustainable plans including tilapia, coffee, vegetables and chickens, divided into ten groups in ten different communities to spread the rish and the benefits.
The benefits for the families involved in the schemes is obvious, with many children continuing their studies into secondary school and college thanks to the income they receive.
By the end of 2017 we would like the projects to be 50% sustainable with the plans so please do contact us if you are interested in sponsoring a particular plan, the link for which is below. Many thanks to you all who have donated this year and let's ake 2017 a very sustainable year and future-builder!
