As we approach the half-year stage our sustainable income plans are coming along very well, with over 200 families benefiting and many more children now able to afford further education – our aim is to benefit over 300 families come the end of 2017.
15,000 trees have been planted and further cows are in the process of being purchased in Guatemala; in Honduras we planted over 1,000 trees and the Plan Café seed nursery has been a success with over 2,500 new coffee seedlings transplanted into their bags, growing Plan Café to almost 6,000 bushes which help cover graduation costs for the Phoenix college. Plans are underway to start Plan Moo (cows) in Perú and meetings will be held over the summer with the aim to increase our herd in Ecuador and also extend the Plan Huerto (vegetable gardens).
Sustainable plans not only benefit the local families though also help to cover our schools' costs for years to come. So many plans in the pipeline and with your help we can reach our goals and here is some excellent charitable news from GlobalGiving who have $110,000 to match donations by 50% from 9am EDT on Wednesday 12th July whilst funds last! If you want to support the Seven Continents Charity Challenge 2017 for sustainable income plans, please do donate to this page from the time and date stated previously and we should get 50% bonus – brilliant!
Have a fantastic summer, cheers!
