A Little update from Nepal

By Tyrone Bennett | CEO of Action Change

Hi everyone,

I am still buzzing from the energy of the last few months! Looking back at our progress since our November update, I just had to reach out and share the incredible things you have made possible for the families here in the Surkhet District.

What we’ve been up to (and why it matters!) Thanks to the amazing generosity you showed over the end-of-year period, we have been busy turning "Climate Action" into real-world health solutions. We aren't just talking about carbon footprints; we are literally changing the air people breathe and the care they receive.

Since our last report, we’ve been working hard with our off-grid communities. We have successfully rolled out more of our improved, energy-efficient cookstoves. For moms like Gita, this isn't just a "stove"—it’s the end of stinging eyes and that heavy, dangerous indoor smoke that causes so much respiratory illness in our children. Seeing a kitchen clear of thick smoke for the first time is a moment that never gets old!

Powering up healthcare Your donations from the last three months have also helped us push forward with our renewable energy goals for local health clinics. In these remote areas, having solar power for lighting and refrigeration is a total game-changer. It means vaccines stay cold, nebulizers for kids with asthma actually work, and healthcare doesn't have to stop when the sun goes down. We are currently aiming to support over 4,700 community members through these upgrades, making sure their healthcare is both sustainable and independent of a shaky (or non-existent) power grid.

Where we are going next We’re not slowing down! Our next big push is to train more local artisans to build and maintain these cookstoves themselves. We want this project to live and breathe within the community so it doesn't rely on us forever. We are also looking to expand our solar capacity to even more "medical cold chains" so that every child in our reach has access to life-saving, temperature-sensitive medicine.

Double your impact: March 17th – 20th! We have a huge opportunity to keep this momentum going. Please mark your calendars for March 17th to March 20th for the GlobalGiving Little by Little campaign!

During these four days, any donation you make up to $50 will be 50% matched by GlobalGiving. That means your $50 gift becomes $75 instantly. It’s the best way to make your support go even further toward clearing the air and powering the clinics. These matching funds go fast (it’s first-come, first-served until they run out!), so please save the date!

Thank you for standing with the people of Nepal. You’re helping us prove that we can tackle climate change and improve health at the very same time.

With huge thanks and excitement,
