Dear Donors and Fundraisers,
Many people sit and decide what project should I donate too? Often the little dog with 3 legs or child in need of a meal pulls on our heartstrings. Every project in worthy of donations and really do need it and we totally underatand this so I thought for this months report it would be nice to understand why scholarships are so life changing and important?
In Costa Rica many schools are over subscribed which means children can only attend school part time. Across Costa Rica students often repeat class levels, see high drop out rates and teachers are very limited in the training they provide. Poverty has a huge impact on education system in Costa Rica and families can't afford to send children to school.
The poverty cycle continues as children drop out of school and although they need a meal today and school uniform by providing a scholarship that does cost a little more we are able to keep children healthy and learning. Providing a good quality education to children living in poverty through a scholarship allows these children to fight back and tackle the poverty cycle. It is a long term plan but with high success and impact rates to ensure poor communities are equipped to tackle the issues they face and this is the reason a donation to scholarship programs are as important as other projects out there.
We thank you for donating to us and supporting us and if possible we would love for you to share our story and project with friends and family so together we can change the future in Costa Rica
Thanks,
